Original antique theatre poster for a Drury Lane Pantomime show for children written and invented by the playwrights J. Hickory Wood and Arthur Collins. Colourful image by the notable English illustrator, poster designer and cartoonist John Hassall (1868-1948) depicting a smartly dressed man coaxing two children towards two unshaven men, one with a money pouch and a dagger knife on his belt, the young girl wheeling a toy dog on a red ribbon behind her and the boy holding his hat behind his back. Traditional Christmas pantomimes have been held at the Drury Lane Theatre in Covent Garden London since the early 1700s. Horizontal. Excellent condition, light staining in margins.

What is a lithograph?
Practically all of the posters found on our website are lithographs. This is a method of printing that involves carving each colour of the image onto a piece of stone. The poster sheet is then imprinted consecutively with a stone slab for each colour, creating a stunning and rich image.
With the exception of silk printing, we believe that other printing techniques do not deliver the same impact of colour as lithography.
Where do you deliver to?
We ship posters worldwide rolled in shock-resistant and hard wearing tubes. Unless specified otherwise, delivery is free within the UK and standard international delivery is £25 for orders placed via our website.
Can I visit your gallery?
Yes. Our gallery is based in London. Our address is 404 King's Road, Chelsea, London SW10 0LJ.
Our opening hours are Monday-Friday 10am-6pm; Saturday 11am-5pm (by appointment only on Sundays and bank holidays*).
