Original vintage Soviet space poster in celebration of Cosmonautics Day - С днем космонавтики! - featuring a smiling Yuri Gagarin (Yuri Alekseyevich Gagarin; 1934-1968), the Soviet pilot and cosmonaut who was the first man in space on 12 April 1961, in shades of blue and white on a globe map background with red stars and rays of yellow and black around him, the bold blue text on the side above. Cosmonautics Day is celebrated annually in the USSR Soviet Union and Russia since 1962 and internationally since 2011 as the International Day of Human Space Flight. Good condition, creasing on the margins.

What is a lithograph?
Practically all of the posters found on our website are lithographs. This is a method of printing that involves carving each colour of the image onto a piece of stone. The poster sheet is then imprinted consecutively with a stone slab for each colour, creating a stunning and rich image.
With the exception of silk printing, we believe that other printing techniques do not deliver the same impact of colour as lithography.
Where do you deliver to?
We ship posters worldwide rolled in shock-resistant and hard wearing tubes. Unless specified otherwise, delivery is free within the UK and standard international delivery is £25 for orders placed via our website.
Can I visit your gallery?
Yes. Our gallery is based in London. Our address is 404 King's Road, Chelsea, London SW10 0LJ.
Our opening hours are Monday-Friday 10am-6pm; Saturday 11am-5pm (by appointment only on Sundays and bank holidays*).
