Original vintage travel advertising poster for Cooks, the household word in travel. Mid-century modern design on a blue background of a world map in the shape of a house with the outline of four smiling faces. Thomas Cook (1808-1892) founded the travel agency in 1841, starting with excursions by train in the UK. The company, Thomas Cook & Son (widely known as Cook's Tours) was renamed Thomas Cook Group plc after a merger in 2007. Good condition, minor bumps and tears on margins.

Are your posters originals?

What is a lithograph?
Practically all of the posters found on our website are lithographs. This is a method of printing that involves carving each colour of the image onto a piece of stone. The poster sheet is then imprinted consecutively with a stone slab for each colour, creating a stunning and rich image.
With the exception of silk printing, we believe that other printing techniques do not deliver the same impact of colour as lithography.
Where do you deliver to?
We ship posters worldwide rolled in shock-resistant and hard wearing tubes. Unless specified otherwise, delivery is free within the UK and standard international delivery is £25 for orders placed via our website.
Can I visit your gallery?
Yes. Our gallery is based in London. Our address is 404 King's Road, Chelsea, London SW10 0LJ.
Our opening hours are Monday-Friday 10am-6pm; Saturday 11am-5pm (by appointment only on Sundays and bank holidays*).
