Dynamic painting by the notable British artist Terence Tenison Cuneo (1907-1996) dated August 1968 depicting the Bentley 4½ Litre car (No. 10) driven by British driver Dudley Benjafield (1897-1957) and French driver Andre d'Erlanger refuelling their 4½ Litre car as mechanics look on from the side, the Bentley car (No. 9) speeding past the pits on the other side in front of spectators with flags flying overhead and more cars in the background, the margin below featuring sketches and annotations, including a Bentley engine "The envy of a million motorists" and an image of W O Bentley (1888-1971) "The man who started it all". The 1929 Le Mans race was won by the following Bentley racing car drivers - known as the Bentley Boys - 1st place: Woolf Barnato (1895-1948) and Tim Birkin (1896-1933) in a Bentley Speed 6 car (No.1); 2nd place: Jack Dunfee (1901-1975) and Glen Kidston (1891-1931) in a Bentley 4½ Litre car (No. 9); also taking 3rd place (No. 10) and 4th place (No. 8).
