Original vintage travel poster - Australia The Tallest Trees in the British Empire Marysville Victoria - featuring an Art Deco design by the Australian poster artist Percy Trompf (1902-1964) depicting a scenic view of two ladies riding horses along a path through a forest with tall trees and ferns surrounding them lit up by the sun with hills in the background, the bold title and Australian National Travel Association kangaroo logo below. ANTA was founded in 1929 to promote tourism and travel for Australia. Located in the Yarra Ranges National Park the mountain ash (Eucalyptus regnan) trees grow to over 90m tall. Very good condition, minor staining, repaired tears, minor creasing, backed on linen.

What is a lithograph?
Most of the posters found on our website are lithographs. This is a method of printing that involves drawing a reverse image of each colour onto a piece of stone. The poster sheet is then imprinted consecutively with a stone slab for each colour, creating a stunning and rich image.
With the exception of silk printing, I believe that other printing techniques do not deliver the same impact of colour as lithography.
Where do you deliver to?
We ship posters worldwide rolled in shock-resistant and hard wearing tubes. Unless specified otherwise, delivery is free within the UK and standard international delivery is £35 for orders placed via our website.
