Original vintage travel poster for the province of Aosta / Aosta e la sua provincia featuring a great pictorial map design with annotated illustrations including nature and wildlife, trees, dogs, cattle and deer, and places of natural wonder and interest such as lakes, snow topped mountains, forests, castles, barns, wine vineyards and other buildings, with local people and their traditions, sports and work including hunters, people skiing and fishing, farmers and people playing golf with the country borders of Svizzera / Switzerland and Francia / France in stylised lettering, and the coats of arms from the area framing the sides of image, a larger map below and a colourful compass point at the top. Printed in Rome. Horizontal. Good condition, restored folds and minor losses, staining, backed on linen.

Are your posters originals?

What is a lithograph?
Practically all of the posters found on our website are lithographs. This is a method of printing that involves carving each colour of the image onto a piece of stone. The poster sheet is then imprinted consecutively with a stone slab for each colour, creating a stunning and rich image.
With the exception of silk printing, we believe that other printing techniques do not deliver the same impact of colour as lithography.
Where do you deliver to?
We ship posters worldwide rolled in shock-resistant and hard wearing tubes. Unless specified otherwise, delivery is free within the UK and standard international delivery is £25 for orders placed via our website.
Can I visit your gallery?
Yes. Our gallery is based in London. Our address is 404 King's Road, Chelsea, London SW10 0LJ.
Our opening hours are Monday-Friday 10am-6pm; Saturday 11am-5pm (by appointment only on Sundays and bank holidays*).
