British Army Motorcycle Tommy Gun WWII


Original vintage World War Two poster featuring a great illustration by Roland Davies (1904-1993) entitled A motor-cycle detachment of the British Army armed with "Tommy" Guns depicting British soldiers in uniform riding military motorbikes towards the viewer along a country road with their Tommy guns facing forward. The Tommy gun is the informal name for a Thompson submachine gun, invented in 1918 by the US Army officer John T. Thompson; the gun was adopted by the US military in 1938 and the weapons were used by the Allied troops and military police during the Second World War. Horizontal. Very good condition, restored paper loss in margin.
