Original vintage railway travel poster - The Booklovers' Britain The Trossachs - issued by LNER / London & North Eastern Railway of England and Scotland featuring a colourful design by one of England's leading poster artists Austin Cooper (1890-1964) depicting soldiers in the Scottish countryside with a lake and trees on the hillside framed by a black border, the stylised title above and text below reading: MacGregor's men prepare to ambush the Military beside Loch Katrine "Rob Roy" next to the text It's Quicker By Rail inside a yellow and orange circle and the railway text along the bottom. The Trossachs is a wooded area of glens, hills and lochs located in the Scottish Highlands with Loch Katrine to the west; the legendary Scottish folk hero Robert Roy MacGregor (1671-1734) was born at the head of the lake. Printed in Great Britain by Mccorquodale and Co Ltd. Good condition, restored folds, backed on linen.
