Travel In Comfort Malayan Railway Art Deco

Original vintage travel poster - Travel In Comfort By Malayan Railway - featuring a stunning Art Deco design of a young lady with short blonde hair dressed in a white top and holding a cigarette in her gloved hand, looking at the scenery out of the train window of a traditional wooden Malay house and palm trees in a field below the blue sky as she drinks tea in her train carriage, the bold yellow lettering on the border above and below. The English artist J.R. Charton emigrated to Malaya (now Peninsular Malaysia and Singapore) and was commissioned by the Federal Malay States Railway to produce Malayan scenes. The Federated Malay States Railways FMS operated the train lines from Singapore to Pedang Besar in northern Malaysia in the early 1900s from 1901-1948. Printed in Kuala Lumpur. Very good condition, crease on left side, backed on linen.
