Scotland Canadian Pacific Steamships

£3,500.00

Original vintage cruise travel poster - To Scotland Canadian Pacific Steamships - featuring a dynamic design depicting a large red and yellow Royal Banner of Scotland flag with the lion rampant inside the decorative fleur-de-lis border flying above the passenger liner Metagama sailing on the deep blue sea with the bold title text below. The SS Metagama was built in Glasgow in 1914 for the Canadian Pacific Line to service their North Atlantic route; she was laid up in 1930 and scrapped in 1934. Founded in 1887, Canadian Pacific was a Canadian shipping company that operated passenger services on the Atlantic and Pacific passenger liner routes and was the country's largest operator until the mid 20th century; in 2005 the company merged with TUI's Hapag-Lloyd division. Very good condition, restored tear on right edge and minor creases, backed on linen.
