Original vintage Pan American World Airways travel advertising poster - Fly to South America - featuring a fun and colourful image by Jean Carlu (1900-1997) and Fred Dubois of a colourful parrot flying over a smiling cartoon sun character holding a flower in his hand while relaxing in a striped hammock on a beach with tropical leaves and palm trees on the side and a sailing boat on the calm blue sea in the distance, the bold red and black text on the sky above and below on the sand in blue lettering: Pan American - Panagra Pan American World Airways System. Founded in 1928 Pan American-Grace Airways / Panagra was a joint venture between Pan American World Airways (Pan Am; 1927-1991) and the Grace Shipping Company (1882); the company merged with Braniff International Airways (Braniff Airways 1928-1982; Braniff International Airways 1948-1965) in 1967. Fair condition, several restored paper losses, restored tears, staining, backed on linen.
