Margaritten Tag Daisies Day Dresden

Original antique poster advertising the Marguerites Daisies Day in Dresden / Margaritten Tag Zu Dresden on 13 May 1911 featuring a great image of a young child sitting inside a wreath of yellow and white Marguerite daisy flowers catching gold coins falling from the centre of the ring above, set against a dark background with the bold stylised lettering below. Blumentag / Flower Days were held in Germany from 1910-1914 in support of child and baby nursery care in local hospitals raising funds by selling artificial flowers for donations; the Margeritentag was a popular choice as the white marguerites daisy flower is a symbol of mercy and compassion. Horizontal. Good condition, restored paper losses, restored tears, restored creasing, backed on linen.
