Original vintage cruise travel poster - P&O Branch Service to Australia via Malta Egypt & Ceylon (Sri Lanka) One class only Low rates Apply within - featuring a great image of the passenger liner Bendigo sailing out of Sydney Harbour surrounded by sailing boats reflected on the calm blue water with a warship and other ships moored along the harbourside leading to Sydney Harbour Bridge and the city in the distance, the bold red text above and below. Artwork by Stanley Charles Rowles (b.1887). The Bendigo (1922-1936) was named after a town in northern Victoria Australia. The British shipping company P&O (Peninsular and Oriental Steam Navigation Company) was founded in 1837 and operated mail and passenger services; the company was taken over by Dubai Ports World in 2006. Printed by G.W Beamand and Son. Good condition, restored paper losses, restored folds, restored tears, backed on linen.
