Vietnam Stop the Red Bloodbath

£250.00

Original vintage French propaganda poster published by the Association France South Vietnam to denounce the Communist attacks in Vietnam: Vietnam Stop the red bloodbath / Viet Nam Arretez le massacre rouge - Association France Vietnam Du Sud. Dynamic cartoon style illustration showing a young Vietnamese man lying in a pool of blood with a rifle bayonet in his chest, the gun bearing a red flag with a yellow star and the text above in red and black letters. The red flag with a golden star was designed in 1940 and used in the uprising against the French; the revolutionary flag was then used by North Vietnam during the Vietnam War and is now the national flag of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam. The 1955-1975 Vietnam War took place during the Cold War era (1947-1991) between North Vietnam (supported by the Soviet Union and other communist allies), and South Vietnam (supported by the United States and other anti-communist allies), leading to the country's reunification to form the Socialist Republic of Vietnam. Printed in France by Imprimerie Speciale, Paris. Good condition, folds, pinhole, faint creases, small tears on top margin.
