Destroy The Enemy WWII Kukriniksy

£5,500.00

Rare original vintage Soviet World War Two propaganda poster - Let us ruthlessly crush and destroy the Enemy! - one of the first posters issued after Nazi Germany attacked the USSR in June 1941. Dynamic design featuring a soldier in red stabbing a bayonet rifle gun into a caricature depiction of Hitler wearing a Nazi Swastika armband and poking his head and clawed hand through a non-aggression pact between the USSR and Germany with a smoking pistol gun in his other hand and a smiling face mask hanging on the side. Kukryniksy was the collective name formed from the combined names of three caricaturists - Mikhail Kupriyanov (1903-1991), Porfiri Krylov (1902-1990) and Nikolai Sokolov (1903-2000). Good condition, restored minor paper loss and tears, light staining, backed on linen.
