Original vintage propaganda poster issued by the Freie Deutschen Jugend FDJ Free German Youth recruiting German youth for railroad construction - Berlins Jugend Baut Ihre Eisenbahn / Berlin's Youth Build Their Railroad 1 August - 1 September 1949. Design featuring an illustration of a young man digging with a shovel against a blue background of railway train tracks and a sign that reads Max Reimann Aufgebot / Max Reimann's Line-up. Text below the image reads - 1.8-1.9.49, Meldungen Reichsbahn Neubauamt Berlin-schlesischer Bahnhof / Report to Reichsbahn Neubauamt Berlin-Silesian station. The FDJ logo of a rising sun under the lettering in a shield shape in the top left corner. Max Reimann (1898-1977) was a communist politician and a member of German federal parliament. Founded in 1946, the Free German Youth movement for young people aged 14-25 was responsible for Socialist education and preparing young East Germans for life following an officially approved route of school and vocational training with membership entry into the party and offices. Good condition, repaired tears, paper losses, fold, backed on paper.
