Battle of Moscow Anniversary WWII Koretsky USSR


Original vintage Soviet propaganda poster for the 25th Anniversary of the Destruction of Fascist Troops in the Battle of Moscow featuring a dynamic image in shades of black and white of a soldier wearing a military cloak over his uniform and a hat with a Soviet star on it, holding up a rifle gun and a large flag in red with a Soviet war medal for the Defence of Moscow on it, as a troop of tanks drive by above the title text in bold red lettering below. The Battle of Moscow (Operation Typhoon / Operation Barbarossa) was a 1941-1942 World War Two military campaign fought on the Eastern Front over the coldest winter of the 20th century, with the Soviet Union holding off the German attack and successfully defending Moscow; in 1965 the city received a Hero City award. Fair condition, restored paper loss, tears and pinholes, minor staining, backed on linen.
