Army Travel Military Recruitment WWI Rock Of Gibraltar

Original antique propaganda poster - Are You Fond of Travel? See the World at Government Expense by Joining the Army - featuring a great illustration by the British artist Lionel Edwards (1878-1966) of three soldiers standing on the deck of a ship wearing pith helmets and looking towards a warship in front of the Rock of Gibraltar as they sail through the Straits of Gibraltar, two men leaning on the rails and the other man smoking a cigarette on the side, the stylised text above and hand writing below reading: Apply Drill Hall Ilkeston (a town located in Derbyshire England). Good condition, staining, light foxing, small restored paper losses and tears, printed slightly sideways resulting in uneven white margins, backed on linen.
