Original vintage World War Two home front food propaganda poster - Am I Proud!.. I'm fighting famine... by canning food at home - featuring a great pin up style illustration by Dick Williams (Richard F. Williams; 1908-1981) of a lady with a wide-eyed expression looking at the viewer, wearing an ruffled apron and holding three jars of vegetables with three more glass jars in front of her, set against a pale background with the bold stylised lettering in red above and rest of the text below. A Home Food Preservation Program message is given on the back of the poster addressed Dear Fellow Citizen outlining the importance of canning and preserving fruit and vegetables during the war years with the need for maximum Victory Garden production to ensure against food shortages during the winter months, signed off by Paul C. Stark Director of the National Garden Program at the U.S. Department of Agriculture. Very good condition, folded as issued, pinholes, minor staining, minor creasing, double-sided with text on reverse.
