Xanti Schawinsky Exhibition Bauhaus


Original vintage advertising poster for an exhibition of paintings, photographs, graphic design and stage work by the notable Swiss avant garde artist and theatre stage designer Xanti Schawinsky (Alexander Schawinsky; 1904-1979) held at the Bauhaus Archiv in Berlin from 22 March to 19 May 1986: Xanti Schawinsky - Malerei, Buhne, Grafikdesign Fotografie. Great modernist design featuring Schawinsky's Stepptanzer versus Steppmaschine / Tap Dancer vs Quilting Machine (1924) image of a smartly dressed gentleman wearing a top hat and black tie / tuxedo looking at a colourful machine made of tubes, cylinders and wheels, the text below in stylised black letters. Very good condition, faint creases, small fold on bottom left corner.
