Original vintage magazine advertising poster for the March 11, 1939 issue of The Saturday Evening Post featuring a great design by Julius Mossel (1871-1957) depicting three colourful parrots hanging from a branch against a teal background with the stylised title text above and the authors listed on the side by the birds with the subtitle in blue letters in the border below: Ambassador Bullitt - He Rose from the Rich (by Jack Alexander) / Mary Roberts Rinehart (1876-1958), Somerset Maugham (1874-1965), Patterson McNutt (1896-1948), and Brooke Hanlon. The American diplomat and writer William Christian Bullitt Jr. (1891-1967) was the first US Ambassador to the Soviet Union from 1933-1936 before becoming the US Ambassador to France during WWII. Good condition, restored tears and restored small paper losses, backed on linen.
