Original vintage London Transport poster for The Royal United Service Museum Charing Cross or Trafalgar Square featuring a great design by one of the most renowned poster artists of the 20th century Edward McKnight Kauffer (1890-1954) depicting a tall ship inside a decorative wreath with an anchor and banner behind a military drum and helmets below and the calligraphic lettering above. Founded by the Duke of Wellington in 1831, The Royal United Service Museum (originally known as The Naval and Military Library and Museum located at Vanbrugh House in Whitehall Yard London with other name changes and relocations since; now known as the Royal United Services Institute for Defence and Security Studies since 2004) was established for the collection of objects of professional art, science and natural history. Printed by Vincent Brooks Day & Son Ltd London. Good condition, restored paper losses, restored tears, backed on linen.
