Original vintage drink advertising poster for Contratto sparkling wine featuring an iconic design by the renowned poster artist Leonetto Cappiello (1875-1942) of a smiling lady holding up an oversized champagne glass overflowing with a cascade of sparkling wine bubbles as her clothes flow around her against the dark background, the title text below. Rare large four sheet poster (three formats were printed, this one being the largest). One of the oldest wineries in Italy and still using this image as part of its logo, Contratto was founded in 1867 by Giuseppe Contratto and is located in Canelli in the Asti province. Large size. Excellent condition, minor restored folds and tears, backed on linen.
