City Bar Liliengasse Vienna Secessionism

£3,250.00

Original antique poster for a bar in Vienna Austria featuring a stunning Vienna Secessionism style design of a smartly dressed couple - the gentleman wearing a monocle and top hat and the lady wearing a flamboyant feathered headpiece with a fashionable dress and Art Deco style armband - the man holding up a drink for the lady with a manicured hand, set against a yellow background with the title text above and artist signature stamp below. The City Bar is located in a historic 1911 late Vienna Secessionism style building by the Austrian architect Rudolf Erdos (1876-1935); originally opened as an officer's casino the building became a bar in 1916 and was later renamed the Eden Bar, which is now run by the Schimanko family. Horizontal. Good condition, restored folds, pinholes and minor paper loss, backed on linen.
