PC0198_1_m  As fans of Ian Fleming’s fictional MI6 secret agent, James Bond, and his collection of classic cars and gadget-laden vehicles look forward to the opening of the new Bond in Motion exhibition at the London Film Museum this weekend, we take a look at some of the iconic movie posters produced for the 007 movies currently listed on our website.

This long-running popular series full of seductive Bond girls, evil villains, high speed car chases, witty one-liners, exotic locations and Martinis “shaken, not stirred” hit the screens in 1962 with the first actor to play the dapper British spy master, Sean Connery (1962-1971, 1983: Dr No, From Russia With Love, Goldfinger, Thunderball, You Only Live Twice, Diamonds Are Forever and a later adaptation of Thunderball, Never Say Never Again):

In 1969, between You Only Live Twice and Diamonds Are Forever, the Australian actor, George Lazenby, was chosen to play the role of James Bond in one movie only – On Her Majesty’s Secret Service:

In 1973 the English actor, Roger Moore, then well known for his role as Simon Templar in The Saint, took over and became the oldest and longest serving 007 actor, portraying a more suave James Bond (1973-1985: Live and Let Die, The Man with the Golden Gun, The Spy Who Loved Me, Moonraker, For Your Eyes Only, OctopussyA View to a Kill):

As we specialize in original vintage posters primarily from the 1800s to 1970s, our James Bond poster collection ends with Timothy Dalton’s role as 007 in The Living Daylights (1987) and a poster advertisement for a short-lived role-playing game by Victory Games, James Bond 007 (1983-1987):
