Original vintage Soviet World War Two propaganda poster - Смерть немецким оккупантам! / Death to the German occupiers! - featuring a military tank with a red Soviet star and the hammer and sickle on it crushing Nazi German tanks with caricatures of the Axis leaders in uniform including Hitler and Mussolini running away in the foreground, a soldier visible in the tank turret with a red flag flying against the grey sky background, the words in white urging the westward advance - Вперед на запад! To the West! Created by the notable Soviet Russian political artist Boris Efimov (1900-2008) and graphic designer Nikolai Dolgorukov (1902-1980), this call to battle for the Red Army counteroffensive aims to portray the enemy as cowardly and emphasize Soviet strength against the Germans advancement into the USSR. Good condition, restored folds, restored tears, restored paper losses, staining, appears to have been unevenly trimmed on the top margin, backed on linen.

What is a lithograph?
Most of the posters found on our website are lithographs. This is a method of printing that involves drawing a reverse image of each colour onto a piece of stone. The poster sheet is then imprinted consecutively with a stone slab for each colour, creating a stunning and rich image.
With the exception of silk printing, I believe that other printing techniques do not deliver the same impact of colour as lithography.
Where do you deliver to?
We ship posters worldwide rolled in shock-resistant and hard wearing tubes. Unless specified otherwise, delivery is free within the UK and standard international delivery is £35 for orders placed via our website.
