Original vintage World War Two poster in Arabic and Russian - Встреча над Берлином / Meeting Over Berlin - based on a Russian poster by Kukryniksy, featuring an image of two smiling pilots in British and Soviet war planes shaking hands as they drop bombs on the German city of Berlin below, the title above and caption in red on the side reads - This drawing is based on a printed painting in Russia, displayed throughout the country, and translated and reproduced by Middle Eastern painters - and caption below the image in red reads - The allied forces are meeting over the enemy's cities and vital centres, and destruction and devastation have descended upon them. Kukryniksy was the collective name formed from the combined names of three caricaturists - Mikhail Kupriyanov (1903-1991), Porfiri Krylov (1902-1990) and Nikolai Sokolov (1903-2000). Good condition, folds, creasing, tears, staining.

What is a lithograph?
Most of the posters found on our website are lithographs. This is a method of printing that involves drawing a reverse image of each colour onto a piece of stone. The poster sheet is then imprinted consecutively with a stone slab for each colour, creating a stunning and rich image.
With the exception of silk printing, I believe that other printing techniques do not deliver the same impact of colour as lithography.
Where do you deliver to?
We ship posters worldwide rolled in shock-resistant and hard wearing tubes. Unless specified otherwise, delivery is free within the UK and standard international delivery is £35 for orders placed via our website.
