Original vintage World War Two safety poster - Curiosity Ignorance Bravado Accidents occur daily from each of these causes. Treat ammunition with respect and save it to kill the enemy - featuring a modernist design by the notable British graphic designer Abram Games (Abraham Gamse; 1914-1996) depicting a hand grenade and bomb on a coffin in red stretching on the grey lined ground into the distance to an explosion with the smoke rising against the stormy sky, the bold stylised lettering in yellow diagonally above and in black and red below. Printed for H.M. Stationery Office by Alf Cooke Ltd, Leeds and London. Good condition, restored paper losses in top corners, restored tears, backed on linen.

What is a lithograph?

Practically all of the posters found on our website are lithographs. This is a method of printing that involves carving each colour of the image onto a piece of stone. The poster sheet is then imprinted consecutively with a stone slab for each colour, creating a stunning and rich image.

With the exception of silk printing, we believe that other printing techniques do not deliver the same impact of colour as lithography. 

Where do you deliver to?

We ship posters worldwide rolled in shock-resistant and hard wearing tubes. Unless specified otherwise, delivery is free within the UK and standard international delivery is £25 for orders placed via our website.
