Original vintage anti Soviet World War Two propaganda poster issued in Nazi Germany occupied France by the Vichy Government aiming to discredit the French Resistance movement by presenting it as a puppet of the USSR - Ils Assassinent! They Assassinate! - featuring a dramatic illustration of a Joseph Stalin caricature wearing a hat with a red star on it, standing in the shadows behind a billowing red, white and blue French flag with a man holding a smoking pistol gun in the middle white section and Stalin's hand reaching over his shoulder to guide his aim, the emblem logo of the Secrétariat Général de l'Information et de la Propagande below and the bold text reading: Ils Assassinent! Are your posters originals?
All our antique and vintage posters, books, maps and prints listed on our website are guaranteed originals as detailed in their photographs and descriptions, and include a certificate of authenticity.
What is a lithograph?
Practically all of the posters found on our website are lithographs. This is a method of printing that involves carving each colour of the image onto a piece of stone. The poster sheet is then imprinted consecutively with a stone slab for each colour, creating a stunning and rich image.
With the exception of silk printing, we believe that other printing techniques do not deliver the same impact of colour as lithography.
Where do you deliver to?
We ship posters worldwide rolled in shock-resistant and hard wearing tubes. Unless specified otherwise, delivery is free within the UK and standard international delivery is £25 for orders placed via our website.
Can I visit your gallery?
Yes. Our gallery is based in London. Our address is 404 King's Road, Chelsea, London SW10 0LJ.
Our opening hours are Monday-Friday 10am-6pm; Saturday 11am-5pm (by appointment only on Sundays and bank holidays*).
