Original vintage World War Two anti-British propaganda poster - Have Confidence ... The Systematic Amputations Continue Methodically / Confiance ... Ses Amputations Se Poursuivent Methodiquement - issued by the Vichy Government in occupied France and featuring an image of the British leader Winston Churchill as an octopus with his tentacles around parts of a map representing British military intervention around the world, the cutting of these tentacles dripping with blood reflecting the prevention of British actions in Norway, Germany, Syria, Somalia, Libya, Mers el Kebir and Dakar by the Axis forces. Large size. Very good condition, restored folds, backed on linen.

What is a lithograph?
Practically all of the posters found on our website are lithographs. This is a method of printing that involves carving each colour of the image onto a piece of stone. The poster sheet is then imprinted consecutively with a stone slab for each colour, creating a stunning and rich image.
With the exception of silk printing, we believe that other printing techniques do not deliver the same impact of colour as lithography.
Where do you deliver to?
We ship posters worldwide rolled in shock-resistant and hard wearing tubes. Unless specified otherwise, delivery is free within the UK and standard international delivery is £25 for orders placed via our website.
Can I visit your gallery?
Yes. Our gallery is based in London. Our address is 404 King's Road, Chelsea, London SW10 0LJ.
Our opening hours are Monday-Friday 10am-6pm; Saturday 11am-5pm (by appointment only on Sundays and bank holidays*).
