Free a Marine to Fight U.S Marine Corps Women's Reserve - featuring a dynamic illustration of a lady in military uniform in front of soldiers charging into battle armed with rifle guns in the background, the bold red and black title text in stylised lettering below. The United States Marine Corps USMC was founded in 1798 becoming part of the U.S. Department of the Navy DON and the United States Navy USN in 1834. Passed by Congress and signed into law by President Franklin D. Roosevelt in 1942 the United States Marine Corps Women's Reserve was established in 1943 to enable women to serve in the Navy and Marine Corps on the home front during the Second World War (since 1918 women worked in the Marine Corps in administrative roles only); this wartime Reserve was demobilized in 1946 but in 1948 the Women's Armed Services Act was passed that enabled women to serve in the regular Marine Corps. Good condition, staining, creasing, tears at margins.

FAQs
More information about our posters and service.
Are your posters originals?
All our antique and vintage posters, books, maps and prints listed on our website are guaranteed originals as detailed in their photographs and descriptions, and include a certificate of authenticity.
What is a lithograph?
Practically all of the posters found on our website are lithographs. This is a method of printing that involves carving each colour of the image onto a piece of stone. The poster sheet is then imprinted consecutively with a stone slab for each colour, creating a stunning and rich image.
With the exception of silk printing, we believe that other printing techniques do not deliver the same impact of colour as lithography.
Where do you deliver to?
We ship posters worldwide rolled in shock-resistant and hard wearing tubes. Unless specified otherwise, delivery is free within the UK and standard international delivery is £25 for orders placed via our website.

Our opening hours are Monday-Friday 10am-6pm; Saturday 11am-5pm (by appointment only on Sundays and bank holidays*).
