Original antique World War One poster - Our Day To Help at the Front our wounded from Home & Overseas - issued by The British Red Cross Society & Order of St John for an event on 21 October 1915. Great artwork by Tom Purvis (1888-1959) showing a group of men in different military uniform from the armed forces looking towards the viewer, one with bandages around his head, another wearing a sling and one wearing an eye patch, in front of a medical Red Cross flag with images of doctors by an ambulance and a rescue boat headed towards a ship on the side. Good condition, restored folds, minor staining, backed on linen.

Are your posters originals?
All our antique and vintage posters, books, maps and prints listed on our website are guaranteed originals as detailed in their photographs and descriptions, and include a certificate of authenticity.
What is a lithograph?
Practically all of the posters found on our website are lithographs. This is a method of printing that involves carving each colour of the image onto a piece of stone. The poster sheet is then imprinted consecutively with a stone slab for each colour, creating a stunning and rich image.
With the exception of silk printing, we believe that other printing techniques do not deliver the same impact of colour as lithography.
Where do you deliver to?
We ship posters worldwide rolled in shock-resistant and hard wearing tubes. Unless specified otherwise, delivery is free within the UK and standard international delivery is £25 for orders placed via our website.
Can I visit your gallery?
Yes. Our gallery is based in London. Our address is 404 King's Road, Chelsea, London SW10 0LJ.
Our opening hours are Monday-Friday 10am-6pm; Saturday 11am-5pm (by appointment only on Sundays and bank holidays*).
