Original vintage travel advertising poster for Wonderful Copenhagen featuring a classic image by the Danish artist Viggo Vagnby (1896-1966) of a family of ducks crossing the road with the help of a smiling traffic policeman whilst being watched by a crowd of pedestrians and people in their car and on the trams with the buildings and monuments of Copenhagen city in the background. In 1985, this design won an international poster competition in England when it was rolled with other entries as a protective layer. Printed in Denmark by J. Chr. Sorensen & Co., Copenhagen. Good condition, creasing, tears, minor staining.

What is a lithograph?
Most of the posters found on our website are lithographs. This is a method of printing that involves drawing a reverse image of each colour onto a piece of stone. The poster sheet is then imprinted consecutively with a stone slab for each colour, creating a stunning and rich image.
With the exception of silk printing, I believe that other printing techniques do not deliver the same impact of colour as lithography.
Where do you deliver to?
We ship posters worldwide rolled in shock-resistant and hard wearing tubes. Unless specified otherwise, delivery is free within the UK and standard international delivery is £35 for orders placed via our website.

Our opening hours are Monday-Friday 10am-6pm; Saturday 11am-5pm (by appointment only on Sundays and bank holidays*).
