Original vintage travel poster - Switzerland Wengernalp Railway Kleine Scheidegg 6762 ft. Bernese Oberland - featuring a scenic view by the Swiss painter Ernst Hodel (1881-1985) of a tree and wild red flowers in the countryside with cows grazing on the green grass slope by wooden buildings leading to the rocky snow topped mountains of the Swiss Alps below the blue sky background. Opened in 1893 the Wengernalp Railway / Wengernalpbahn railway line runs from Lauterbrunnen to Grindelwald via Wengen and Kleine Scheidegg. Printed by Paul Bender, Zollikon-Zurich. Good condition, restored paper loss in top corners, restored tears, backed on linen.

What is a lithograph?
Most of the posters found on our website are lithographs. This is a method of printing that involves drawing a reverse image of each colour onto a piece of stone. The poster sheet is then imprinted consecutively with a stone slab for each colour, creating a stunning and rich image.
With the exception of silk printing, I believe that other printing techniques do not deliver the same impact of colour as lithography.
Where do you deliver to?
We ship posters worldwide rolled in shock-resistant and hard wearing tubes. Unless specified otherwise, delivery is free within the UK and standard international delivery is £35 for orders placed via our website.
