Original vintage travel advertising poster published by British European Airways BEA to promote their flights from Germany to London and Great Britain. Colourful and fun mid-century design featuring a smiling Royal Guard in red and black uniform holding a white flag with a crown at the top and text in German and English: "The beef is roasting. The countryside awaits you. And in preparation for your visit the Guards have rehearsed their pageantry for several hundred years." against a vibrant yellow background with the text in black letters below the BEA plane logo. Printed in Great Britain at the Baynard Press. Good condition, small tears and creases on top and right margins, pinholes in corners.

Are your posters originals?
All our antique and vintage posters, books, maps and prints listed on our website are guaranteed originals as detailed in their photographs and descriptions, and include a certificate of authenticity.
What is a lithograph?
Practically all of the posters found on our website are lithographs. This is a method of printing that involves carving each colour of the image onto a piece of stone. The poster sheet is then imprinted consecutively with a stone slab for each colour, creating a stunning and rich image.
With the exception of silk printing, we believe that other printing techniques do not deliver the same impact of colour as lithography.
Where do you deliver to?
We ship posters worldwide rolled in shock-resistant and hard wearing tubes. Unless specified otherwise, delivery is free within the UK and standard international delivery is £25 for orders placed via our website.
Can I visit your gallery?
Yes. Our gallery is based in London. Our address is 404 King's Road, Chelsea, London SW10 0LJ.
Our opening hours are Monday-Friday 10am-6pm; Saturday 11am-5pm (by appointment only on Sundays and bank holidays*).
