Original vintage midcentury travel poster advertising the Belfast Steamship Co Ltd Liverpool - Belfast nightly passenger service (Sundays excepted) featuring images on colourful pillars representing the iconic Giant's Causeway volcanic stepping stones columns of various leisure and sport activities including people playing golf, tennis, fishing, a lady about to throw a beach ball and a lady in a polka dot dress sightseeing with stylised purple and blue lines on the shadow as the natural formations, a bright yellow sun on the side and a large passenger ship sailing across the deep blue sea background, the bold text above and below. The Belfast Steamship Company provided shipping services between Belfast in Northern Ireland and Liverpool in England from 1852 to 1975. Printed by Carew Wilson Massey Ltd., London. Very good condition, minor creasing, repaired tears.

What is a lithograph?
Most of the posters found on our website are lithographs. This is a method of printing that involves drawing a reverse image of each colour onto a piece of stone. The poster sheet is then imprinted consecutively with a stone slab for each colour, creating a stunning and rich image.
With the exception of silk printing, I believe that other printing techniques do not deliver the same impact of colour as lithography.
Where do you deliver to?
We ship posters worldwide rolled in shock-resistant and hard wearing tubes. Unless specified otherwise, delivery is free within the UK and standard international delivery is £35 for orders placed via our website.
