Arandora Star Liner
Original vintage cruise travel poster for Arandora Star the world's most delightful cruising liner Blue Star showing the ship moored at sea with passengers enjoying a trip to shore on small boats viewed from the coast with palm trees framing the image and people watching from the rocks, a Union Jack flying on the cruise liner and the bold text above and below on a yellow background. The SS Arandora Star was built in 1927 for Blue Star Line for their London, Rio de Janeiro, Buenos Aires route (one of the luxury five cruise liners); she served as a troop ship during World War Two but was hit by a torpedo and sunk in June 1940 whilst transporting internees and prisoners of war to Canada. The Blue Star Line was a British shipping company that operated passenger and cargo services around the world from 1911-1998. Good condition, restored paper losses on margins, small restored tears on edges, staining, backed on linen.

Are your posters originals?

What is a lithograph?
Practically all of the posters found on our website are lithographs. This is a method of printing that involves carving each colour of the image onto a piece of stone. The poster sheet is then imprinted consecutively with a stone slab for each colour, creating a stunning and rich image.
With the exception of silk printing, we believe that other printing techniques do not deliver the same impact of colour as lithography.
Where do you deliver to?
We ship posters worldwide rolled in shock-resistant and hard wearing tubes. Unless specified otherwise, delivery is free within the UK and standard international delivery is £25 for orders placed via our website.
Can I visit your gallery?
Yes. Our gallery is based in London. Our address is 404 King's Road, Chelsea, London SW10 0LJ.
Our opening hours are Monday-Friday 10am-6pm; Saturday 11am-5pm (by appointment only on Sundays and bank holidays*).
