Ryndam Maasdam Holland America Line
Original vintage cruise travel poster - A New Concept in Tourist Travel New Twins Ryndam Maasdam Comfort with Economy Holland-America Line - featuring a great design by the Dutch graphic designer Ad Werner (Adrianus Gerardus Werner; 1925-2017) of the two ships sailing at sea at night inside a silhouette of the Greek God of the Sea Poseidon wearing a crown and holding his trident with the text above and below. Originally ordered as a cargo passenger ship (the Dinteldyk), the tourist class ocean liner TSS Ryndam was redesigned and launched as a passenger ship in 1950 to serve the transatlantic route for Holland America Line (founded 1873); she was used as an immigration transportation ship from Europe to America and Canada after WWII and was sold in 1973. Her sister ship the TSS Maasdam was launched in 1952 and sailed with Holland America Line until being sold in 1968. Good condition, restored paper loss on bottom left corner, minor staining, repaired tears, backed on linen.

What is a lithograph?
Practically all of the posters found on our website are lithographs. This is a method of printing that involves carving each colour of the image onto a piece of stone. The poster sheet is then imprinted consecutively with a stone slab for each colour, creating a stunning and rich image.
With the exception of silk printing, we believe that other printing techniques do not deliver the same impact of colour as lithography.
Where do you deliver to?
We ship posters worldwide rolled in shock-resistant and hard wearing tubes. Unless specified otherwise, delivery is free within the UK and standard international delivery is £25 for orders placed via our website.
Can I visit your gallery?
Yes. Our gallery is based in London. Our address is 404 King's Road, Chelsea, London SW10 0LJ.
Our opening hours are Monday-Friday 10am-6pm; Saturday 11am-5pm (by appointment only on Sundays and bank holidays*).
