Original vintage travel advertising poster for the World Fair event held in New York at the Flushing Meadows Corona Park from 30 April 1939 to 31 October 1940. Great Art Deco design by John Atherton (1900-1952) featuring people walking towards the Trylon and Perisphere at the fair on top of a base of the world globe with a classical image of Libertas the Roman goddess of liberty in the background and the title text running diagonally in stylised blue and yellow letters - New York World's Fair 1939. Printed in U.S.A. by Grinnell Litho. Co., Inc., N.Y.C. Very good condition, minor restored creases, backed on linen.

Are your posters originals?

What is a lithograph?
Practically all of the posters found on our website are lithographs. This is a method of printing that involves carving each colour of the image onto a piece of stone. The poster sheet is then imprinted consecutively with a stone slab for each colour, creating a stunning and rich image.
With the exception of silk printing, we believe that other printing techniques do not deliver the same impact of colour as lithography.
Where do you deliver to?
We ship posters worldwide rolled in shock-resistant and hard wearing tubes. Unless specified otherwise, delivery is free within the UK and standard international delivery is £25 for orders placed via our website.
Can I visit your gallery?
Yes. Our gallery is based in London. Our address is 404 King's Road, Chelsea, London SW10 0LJ.
Our opening hours are Monday-Friday 10am-6pm; Saturday 11am-5pm (by appointment only on Sundays and bank holidays*).
