Original vintage poster - The Federation of Rhodesia and Nyasaland - featuring a pictorial map of the region depicting the tribes and wild animals, cattle, industrial manufacturing, forestry, tea, cotton, maize and tobacco plantations, mining, airports, roads, railways, rivers, trees, lakes and territorial boundaries with Mozambique, Angola and the Belgian Congo, a compass point and the bold stylised title text above, and a small map showing the area in Africa with a reference box and information below the coat of arms (a leopard and antelope holding a shield with a rising sun, red lion and black and white wavy lines on it, an eagle at the top and grass at the bottom). The Federation of Rhodesia and Nyasaland (1953-1963) was also known as the Central African Federation CAF comprising Southern Rhodesia, Northern Rhodesia and Nyasaland (now Zimbabwe, Zambia and Malawi). Compiled and published by the Federal Information Department. Designed and printed by the Federal Department of Printing and Stationery Salisbury 1955. Reprinted 1959. Good condition, creasing, tears, staining.

Are your posters originals?

What is a lithograph?
Practically all of the posters found on our website are lithographs. This is a method of printing that involves carving each colour of the image onto a piece of stone. The poster sheet is then imprinted consecutively with a stone slab for each colour, creating a stunning and rich image.
With the exception of silk printing, we believe that other printing techniques do not deliver the same impact of colour as lithography.
Where do you deliver to?
We ship posters worldwide rolled in shock-resistant and hard wearing tubes. Unless specified otherwise, delivery is free within the UK and standard international delivery is £25 for orders placed via our website.
Can I visit your gallery?
Yes. Our gallery is based in London. Our address is 404 King's Road, Chelsea, London SW10 0LJ.
Our opening hours are Monday-Friday 10am-6pm; Saturday 11am-5pm (by appointment only on Sundays and bank holidays*).
