This poster would have been on display and used as a teaching aid at schools for history lessons. The Women's Army Auxiliary Corps WAAC was set up in 1917 to help with administrative and auxiliary work on a voluntary basis during WWI to free men for the front line and help on the home front; the WAAC continued in France after the war before being disbanded in 1921; many then joined the new Auxiliary Territorial Service ATS (1938-1949) during World War Two. FAQs
More information about our posters and service.
Are your posters originals?
All our antique and vintage posters, books, maps and prints listed on our website are guaranteed originals as detailed in their photographs and descriptions, and include a certificate of authenticity.
What is a lithograph?
Practically all of the posters found on our website are lithographs. This is a method of printing that involves carving each colour of the image onto a piece of stone. The poster sheet is then imprinted consecutively with a stone slab for each colour, creating a stunning and rich image.
With the exception of silk printing, we believe that other printing techniques do not deliver the same impact of colour as lithography.
Where do you deliver to?
We ship posters worldwide rolled in shock-resistant and hard wearing tubes. Unless specified otherwise, delivery is free within the UK and standard international delivery is £25 for orders placed via our website.
