Original vintage travel poster featuring a colourful pictorial map of Wales designed by the artist and illustrator Frederick Griffin (1906-1976) highlighting the various places of interest including historical castles and notable figures, tourist attractions, hills and rivers, ships and boats at sea, towns and villages, waterfalls, sports and seaside resorts, roads and air, rail and sea routes, with insets of Pembroke and Menai Bridge on the Key, the Royal Badge of Wales and decorative coats of arms for Welsh counties above and below, a stylised sun and compass point with the title text and a Welsh dragon, flag, spinning wheel, traditional hat and harp image with music notes on the margin below. Published by the British Travel and Holidays Association in co-operation with the Welsh tourist board and printed in Great Britain by James Upton Limited. Good condition, creasing, staining, tears.

Are your posters originals?

All antique and vintage posters listed on our website are guaranteed originals as detailed in their photographs and descriptions, and include a certificate of authenticity. 

What is a lithograph?

Most of the posters found on our website are lithographs. This is a method of printing that involves drawing a reverse image of each colour onto a piece of stone. The poster sheet is then imprinted consecutively with a stone slab for each colour, creating a stunning and rich image.

With the exception of silk printing, I believe that other printing techniques do not deliver the same impact of colour as lithography.

Where do you deliver to?

We ship posters worldwide rolled in shock-resistant and hard wearing tubes. Unless specified otherwise, delivery is free within the UK and standard international delivery is £35 for orders placed via our website.
