Original antique travel poster for the French State and Brighton Railway Paris St Lazare to London and the South Coast of England via Dieppe and Newhaven / Chemins de Fer de L'Etat et de Brighton Paris St Lazare a Londres et La Cote Sud d'Angleterre par Dieppe et Newhaven featuring a great design by Maurice Toussaint (1882-1974) depicting a marching band of the British Royal Guards wearing traditional red military uniforms and iconic bear skin hats marching and playing music on drums in a military parade in front of a crowd of people with an historic building in the background, the text in French in stylised lettering in the border above and below with the details - The most economical route Day and night service Large ferries and fastest boats on the Channel / Voie la plus economique Service de jour et du nuit Grandes pacquebots et turbines les plus rapides de la Manche. What is a lithograph?

Practically all of the posters found on our website are lithographs. This is a method of printing that involves carving each colour of the image onto a piece of stone. The poster sheet is then imprinted consecutively with a stone slab for each colour, creating a stunning and rich image.

With the exception of silk printing, we believe that other printing techniques do not deliver the same impact of colour as lithography. 

Where do you deliver to?

We ship posters worldwide rolled in shock-resistant and hard wearing tubes. Unless specified otherwise, delivery is free within the UK and standard international delivery is £25 for orders placed via our website.
