Rare original vintage poster issued by London Underground "Rehabilitation 59.750 windows in trains, buses, trolleybuses and trams were damaged by enemy action, apart from those on totally blitzed vehicles. The wartime substitutes are being replaced by glass - but It Takes Time" one of a series published after the end of World War Two by London Transport across the London train, tram, bus and underground networks. Great artwork by Fred Taylor (1875-1963) showing engineers in a bus depot replacing the windows on red double decker London bus with the text above and below. Printed in England by The Baynard Press. Very good condition, restored folds, restored small pinholes and tears, backed on linen.

What is a lithograph?
Practically all of the posters found on our website are lithographs. This is a method of printing that involves carving each colour of the image onto a piece of stone. The poster sheet is then imprinted consecutively with a stone slab for each colour, creating a stunning and rich image.
With the exception of silk printing, we believe that other printing techniques do not deliver the same impact of colour as lithography.
Where do you deliver to?
We ship posters worldwide rolled in shock-resistant and hard wearing tubes. Unless specified otherwise, delivery is free within the UK and standard international delivery is £25 for orders placed via our website.
Can I visit your gallery?
Yes. Our gallery is based in London. Our address is 404 King's Road, Chelsea, London SW10 0LJ.
Our opening hours are Monday-Friday 10am-6pm; Saturday 11am-5pm (by appointment only on Sundays and bank holidays*).
