Original vintage post-war London Underground Transport poster for London Whitehall featuring artwork by the notable British artist Fred Taylor (1875-1963) showing a street view with people walking along the pavements and London buses and cars driving by the statue of Prince George the Duke of Cambridge on a horse leading to the Houses of Parliament and Big Ben clock tower on the horizon, set within a lined frame border with the London Transport roundel and a quote below: "Whitehall is the High Street of the British Empire and as such is without parallel." One of a series printed by the Baynard Press. Good condition, restored tears, restored paper losses, minor staining, backed on linen.

Are your posters originals?

What is a lithograph?
Practically all of the posters found on our website are lithographs. This is a method of printing that involves carving each colour of the image onto a piece of stone. The poster sheet is then imprinted consecutively with a stone slab for each colour, creating a stunning and rich image.
With the exception of silk printing, we believe that other printing techniques do not deliver the same impact of colour as lithography.
Where do you deliver to?
We ship posters worldwide rolled in shock-resistant and hard wearing tubes. Unless specified otherwise, delivery is free within the UK and standard international delivery is £25 for orders placed via our website.
Can I visit your gallery?
Yes. Our gallery is based in London. Our address is 404 King's Road, Chelsea, London SW10 0LJ.
Our opening hours are Monday-Friday 10am-6pm; Saturday 11am-5pm (by appointment only on Sundays and bank holidays*).
