Six Hour Day Working Week USSR
Original vintage Soviet propaganda poster featuring an illustration of a smiling man with a jacket over his shoulder and two children walking with him, a boy with a tennis racket and a girl with a ball ready for sport activities, in front of a large clock face with the hour hand at four o'clock and a classic car and people in front of a Дом Культуры / House of Culture community centre in the background, the text on the clock and below reads - The transfer of all workers and employees to a six-seven hour working day will be completed in 1960 Our working day will be the shortest in the world / В 1960 году будет завершен перевод всех рабочих и служащих на шести-семичасовой рабочий день. Наш рабочий день будет самым коротким в мире. The idea of a six-hour working day was first introduced by Vladimir Lenin in 1919 and partially accomplished in the 1930s; it was postponed in the 1940s due to war preparations and onset of the World War Two and re-introduced in the 1950s by Joseph Stalin before being abandoned in the late 1960s for a normal five working day week with two rest days. Horizontal. Good condition, creasing, tears.

FAQs
More information about our posters and service.
Are your posters originals?
All our antique and vintage posters, books, maps and prints listed on our website are guaranteed originals as detailed in their photographs and descriptions, and include a certificate of authenticity.
What is a lithograph?
Practically all of the posters found on our website are lithographs. This is a method of printing that involves carving each colour of the image onto a piece of stone. The poster sheet is then imprinted consecutively with a stone slab for each colour, creating a stunning and rich image.
With the exception of silk printing, we believe that other printing techniques do not deliver the same impact of colour as lithography.
Where do you deliver to?
We ship posters worldwide rolled in shock-resistant and hard wearing tubes. Unless specified otherwise, delivery is free within the UK and standard international delivery is £25 for orders placed via our website.

Yes. Our gallery is based in London. Our address is 404 King's Road, Chelsea, London SW10 0LJ.
Our opening hours are Monday-Friday 10am-6pm; Saturday 11am-5pm (by appointment only on Sundays and bank holidays*).
