Westinghouse Brakes Car Steam Train

Original vintage advertising poster for hydraulic brakes. Westinghouse on the road like on the rails... Sur la route comme sur la rail... Dynamic image of a red classic car on the road with a steam locomotive on the tracks, both speeding ahead. The Westinghouse Air Brake Company (WABCO) was founded on 28 September 1869 by George Westinghouse in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Earlier that year he invented the railway air brake in New York state. WABCO's direct successor companies include WABCO Vehicle Control Systems, a commercial vehicle air brake manufacturer; and Wabtec, a railway equipment manufacturer, which have been owned and operated independently of each other since the mid-twentieth century. WABCO is a publicly traded company and is listed on the New York Stock Exchange as WABCO Holdings Inc, with the stock symbol WBC. Good condition, minor staining, restored minor loss on margin, backed on linen.

FAQs

More information about our posters and service.

Are your posters originals?

All our antique and vintage posters, books, maps and prints listed on our website are guaranteed originals as detailed in their photographs and descriptions, and include a certificate of authenticity.

What is a lithograph?

Practically all of the posters found on our website are lithographs. This is a method of printing that involves carving each colour of the image onto a piece of stone. The poster sheet is then imprinted consecutively with a stone slab for each colour, creating a stunning and rich image.

With the exception of silk printing, we believe that other printing techniques do not deliver the same impact of colour as lithography.

Where do you deliver to?

We ship posters worldwide rolled in shock-resistant and hard wearing tubes. Unless specified otherwise, delivery is free within the UK and standard international delivery is £25 for orders placed via our website.
