Original vintage export version of a Soviet movie poster for a classic science fiction comedy film directed by Leonid Gaidai - Ivan Vasilievich Changes His Profession (Ivan Vasilevich Menyaet Professiyu / Ivan the Terrible: Back to the Future) - based on the play Ivan Vasilievich by Mikhail Bulgakov about a building superintendent Ivan (played by Yury Yakovlev) and a thief George Miloslavsky (Leonid Kuravlyov) who are sent back to the 16th century period of Tsar Ivan IV Vasilyevich / Ivan the Terrible in a time machine. Fun and colourful design depicting a scientist working on a time machine emitting a shine of light and bolts of lightning on an Orthodox church with a man in uniform and lady looking from the circle around him and men falling from the sky on the side, the title text in stylised black lettering around the image. Large size. Good condition, creasing on edges, tears on edges.

Are your posters originals?

What is a lithograph?
Practically all of the posters found on our website are lithographs. This is a method of printing that involves carving each colour of the image onto a piece of stone. The poster sheet is then imprinted consecutively with a stone slab for each colour, creating a stunning and rich image.
With the exception of silk printing, we believe that other printing techniques do not deliver the same impact of colour as lithography.
Where do you deliver to?
We ship posters worldwide rolled in shock-resistant and hard wearing tubes. Unless specified otherwise, delivery is free within the UK and standard international delivery is £25 for orders placed via our website.
Can I visit your gallery?
Yes. Our gallery is based in London. Our address is 404 King's Road, Chelsea, London SW10 0LJ.
Our opening hours are Monday-Friday 10am-6pm; Saturday 11am-5pm (by appointment only on Sundays and bank holidays*).
