Original vintage movie poster for the Italian release of a 1966 sci-fi superhero Japanese film Ogon Batto (The Golden Bat / Il Ritorno di Diavolik) directed by Hajime Sato based on the Japanese comic book character Fantaman released in Italy in 1968 with the names of the director and cast changed to American names: Terence Marvin Jr for the director and Thomas Lee, Peter Conway and Deborah Scott for the actors. Great artwork featuring the character of the Golden Bat wearing a skull head mask and a red costume with a cape and black gloves, firing shots with an automatic rifle as a scantily dressed young lady holds on to him and looks out to the viewer, in front of a large shooting target against the black background with the stylised title text in yellow letters below. Printed in Italy by Polichrom. Large size. Good condition, restored folds, restored losses in left margin, backed on linen.

Are your posters originals?

What is a lithograph?
Practically all of the posters found on our website are lithographs. This is a method of printing that involves carving each colour of the image onto a piece of stone. The poster sheet is then imprinted consecutively with a stone slab for each colour, creating a stunning and rich image.
With the exception of silk printing, we believe that other printing techniques do not deliver the same impact of colour as lithography.
Where do you deliver to?
We ship posters worldwide rolled in shock-resistant and hard wearing tubes. Unless specified otherwise, delivery is free within the UK and standard international delivery is £25 for orders placed via our website.
Can I visit your gallery?
Yes. Our gallery is based in London. Our address is 404 King's Road, Chelsea, London SW10 0LJ.
Our opening hours are Monday-Friday 10am-6pm; Saturday 11am-5pm (by appointment only on Sundays and bank holidays*).
