Original vintage travel poster issued by the London, Midland and Scottish Railway LMS and London North Eastern Railway LNER for Edinburgh It's Quicker By Rail featuring a great design by Fred Taylor (1875-1963) titled Chapel of the Thistle St Giles Cathedral in Edinburgh Scotland depicting two men in ceremonial robes standing inside the high-ceilinged chapel (opened in 1911 by King George V), built by the Scottish architect Sir Robert Stodart Lorimer (1864-1929) with craftspeople and artisans from the Arts and Crafts movement. Printed by The Baynard Press. Large size. Fair condition, large restored paper losses on image, restored folds, restored tears on image, minor staining, backed on linen.

Are your posters originals?

What is a lithograph?
Practically all of the posters found on our website are lithographs. This is a method of printing that involves carving each colour of the image onto a piece of stone. The poster sheet is then imprinted consecutively with a stone slab for each colour, creating a stunning and rich image.
With the exception of silk printing, we believe that other printing techniques do not deliver the same impact of colour as lithography.
Where do you deliver to?
We ship posters worldwide rolled in shock-resistant and hard wearing tubes. Unless specified otherwise, delivery is free within the UK and standard international delivery is £25 for orders placed via our website.
Can I visit your gallery?
Yes. Our gallery is based in London. Our address is 404 King's Road, Chelsea, London SW10 0LJ.
Our opening hours are Monday-Friday 10am-6pm; Saturday 11am-5pm (by appointment only on Sundays and bank holidays*).
